Short film: Casting call. [Melbourne, Australia]

Hello there, the name's Julian Chapman, I'm shooting a short film in the coming weeks and am in need of some talented actors and actresses: so, here I am. This film is being made as part of the final unit in my VCE Media course and shall be shot in the city of Melbourne; no payment is available to actors, although they shall be provided with food and such supplies on the shooting days. Greater details below:

SYNOPSIS:
The film I intend on shooting is called "Boy meets Girl. (Meets Boy)" and is a despondent romantic comedy set in inner city Melbourne, the plot touches on homosexuality and gay rights, as well as being a (hopefully) humorous take on relationships. The film itself is an exploration of relationships, in the vein of Woody Allen’s 1970’s films such as “Manhattan” and “Annie Hall”, or the American TV series “Seinfeld”. As such I ended up placing far less emphasis on the homosexuality themes of the production, although not so as to sideline the issue.

SHOOTING DATES AND LOCATIONS:
I intend on shooting on a two to three day shooting between the 21st of August- 5th September.
The filming shall predominately within the CBD of Melbourne, with some shooting in the Moreland area of Melbourne (approx. 25 minutes out of CBD), however will allow for some leeway in organising locations that are easily accessible for potential cast.

PAYMENT DETAILS:
As this is a student short film, I (sadly) am not able to pay exuberant fees, or any fees as it happens, for actors. However am certainly willing to provide food and drink on the day of shooting: you may not be paid Hollywood grade-salary, but you'll certainly be made comfortable.

CHARACTERS:

Main Cast-

Dean: An 18-20 year old bisexual chap with a sardonic outlook on life and relationships. Is easily caught up in the thrill and emotion of circumstances. Dean’s eventful, if disappointing, relationship experiences are documented in the film.

Stacey: An 18-20 year old (straight) girl, vivacious and a tad uncouth. Stacey is somewhat rash and has a jaded view of the world, yet tires to see some glimmer of hope. These glimmers of hope tend to be crushed however.

Supporting Cast:

John: A 18-20 year old homosexual lad, he is far from remarkable, no different to any other ordinary lad his age. He is perceived to be fairly vapid and uninteresting a youth and doesn’t protest to that perception with much conviction.

What we're doing...

It may seem that we've not been updating the site, and we haven't. Although that's not to say that we've not been doing anything, we started recording episode two of our Five Rounds Rapid podcast yesterday, I'll try to have it up by sunday. The animation projects have currently been forced onto the back burner due to time constraints, and we're looking into doing some more audio based works, or even a webcomic.
